The future of Perth’s beloved Sculpture by the Sea at Cottesloe is under threat. The Albanese Labor Government’s refusal to fund this iconic event means it will not go ahead in March 2025—devastating news for the 220,000 attendees who cherish its world-class art in a free and accessible setting.
This neglect highlights a stark reality: Labor is failing Western Australia. Instead of supporting cornerstone cultural events, the Albanese Government has prioritised bureaucracy, expanding public servant numbers at Creative Australia while turning its back on our community’s values.
But there is hope. The Liberal Party has pledged $1.5 million over two years to secure Sculpture by the Sea’s future in 2026 and 2027. This funding will ensure the event continues to delight West Australians and visitors alike. However, this commitment depends on your vote.
Liberal candidate for Curtin, Tom White, is fighting to deliver for our community. “Labor’s neglect is disappointing, but together we can take a stand. By electing a Coalition government, we can save Sculpture by the Sea and ensure Curtin’s voice is heard loud and clear in Canberra,” White said.
This election is your chance to protect the events that define our community and showcase the best of Western Australia. Join us, support the Liberal Party, and secure the future of Sculpture by the Sea. Let’s ensure Cottesloe’s iconic coastline continues to inspire and unite us for years to come.
