Investing in upgrades for any sporting club is an investment in community health, youth engagement, and personal development. Sporting clubs are more than just venues for games; they serve as vital hubs for physical activity, social interaction, and personal growth for people of all ages.
South Bunbury Sporting Club has been part of our community since 1897, and now needs $4.5m in federal funding to ensure that it has the facilities to cater for continued growth across football, netball and basketball, with a particular focus on improving opportunities for girls and women in those sports.
Upgraded facilities enhance the club’s ability to accommodate its growing membership, support diverse activities, and generate stronger community participation. Where social cohesion is being tested across the country, strong sporting clubs uphold the fabric of our community and promote an important sense of belonging.
Modern infrastructure ensures inclusivity by providing accessible spaces for individuals with disabilities and fosters participation across all demographics. Improved facilities also enable the club to host regional events, boosting the local economy by attracting visitors and increasing sports tourism-related revenue. The upgrades will see activity at Hands Oval 7 days a week, and complements the new SWFL stadium in completing the precinct.
I need your help to send Canberra a message!
Sign my petition and I’ll use the strong show of community support to fight for the funding that South Bunbury Sporting Club needs.
