Wooroloo and the Perth Hills have faced devastating bushfires, including the 2021 Wooroloo bushfire that destroyed 86 homes and damaged over 100 other structures. Our dedicated volunteer firefighters work tirelessly to protect our community, but their station is outdated and no longer fit for purpose.
Despite the WA Emergency Services Levy, only $2.35 million of Shire ratepayer funds are allocated to bushfire management, leaving vital infrastructure upgrades underfunded. With four bushfire stations in the Shire over 30 years old, our community cannot afford to wait.
I am fighting for the safety of Wooroloo by calling for a modern, fully equipped station that will:
-
Ensure our volunteer firefighters have the facilities they need to protect lives and property.
-
Increase community participation in bushfire response efforts.
-
Strengthen Wooroloo’s disaster resilience and preparedness.
Your support can make this vision a reality.
Sign the petition and stand with Wooroloo to ensure our community is ready to face the challenges of the future.
Together, we can protect lives, homes, and the future of our town.
